Christian Aid is committed to addressing poverty and inequality in Nigeria, a country with over 160 million people and the second-largest economy in Africa. Despite its economic strength, Nigeria faces challenges such as political instability, corruption, and ethnic and religious conflicts, leaving more than half of its population in poverty. While the country has experienced peaceful transitions of power since 1999, governance remains influenced by patronage, low voter engagement, and socio-political divides. Wealth is concentrated among a small elite, limiting opportunities for many. Christian Aid is dedicated to empowering communities, strengthening governance, and driving sustainable development to improve the lives of vulnerable populations.
